		Peace Of Mind For Working Parents Presented by Family Martial Arts With the school year fast approaching, most parents are making plans for their child’s after school care. Some plans may include extended day at school, baby sitting, walking or taking a bus home to an empty house, TV and perhaps a bag of potato chips. STOP! Allow us to present the SMART alternative. Our transported after school martial arts program picks up your child directly from their school and transports them to our facility centrally located on Water Street in Santa Cruz. Upon your child’s arrival at our facility, he or she is greeted by friendly caring people. Yes, our instructors and staff go out of their way to make sure that each child is personally greeted and made to feel welcome. Just like at home, children need to settle in and have a healthy snack. Focus is then placed on structured activity, homework time, reading time, or arts and crafts. We know from personal experience that after a long day at work, most parents are relieved to know that most or all homework is complete and ready for their review. Now on to the best part….The core of our program. First, please let go of any negative preconceived idea you may have about the martial arts. Yes, our program is a traditional martial arts program where your child will build self-esteem; learn discipline, respect for teachers, parents, adults, other students and themselves. Yes, your child will learn traditional Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Jujitsu, tumbling, safety and character development skills. But unlike the tough guy, rough ‘em up martial arts class or the overly-stiff, ho-hum boring martial arts class, our classes focus on safety and are always fun. Your child will love learning with our dynamic, state of the art, K – 5th age-specific curriculums. In today’s world of instant gratification it is a challenge to teach children the value of working towards goals and the satisfaction that comes from a job well done. Our program focuses on reinforcing traditional martial arts values such as trying one’s best and never giving up. Your child will learn to set goals and work hard to achieve them the traditional way, THEY WILL EARN THEM!!!
